MUSEDT 24-dec-92
Musedt is a medium resolution program for creating, editing and playing
a *.tun file. A *.tun file consists of a header block followed by up
to three voices. The header indicates the key and time signature and
the speed and tone envelopes for playing the voices. Each voice consists
of a list of notes each of which are described by a pitch and time
duration. Notes are entered by clicking on the piano keyboard displayed
on the screen using the mouse pointer. The notes are sounded on the
Atari sound chip and displayed on the musical staff.
Makdosnd converts a *.tun file to and sound.xbs file so that it can be
loaded into memory and played in the background using the XBIOS 32
command.
Testdosn is a simple program demonstrating how to load and play an
*.xbs file in the background.
Musedt requires the file notes2.put in the same directory. Musedt.hlp
is an extensive help file.
All the programs are free including the sources in GFA Basic 3.5.
Version May 15 th 1993
The new version contains a collection of 60 or so tune files which I
have compiled over the past two years. Many of them were created by Leo
de Wit for the STACATTO program. The musedt program does not support
many of the expressive features (control of dynamics, emphasis, legato)
available in the STACATTO program which results in some losses. The
time signature was not indicated in the STACATTO music files, however
you may change the default time signature to whatever is reasonable as
it only controls the placement of bar lines.
I added a few new features to MUSEDT.PRG and fixed up some of the bugs.
I welcome any comments.
